Abdominal acupuncture is a revolutionary new acupuncture technique developed over the last 20 years by Dr. Bo Zhiyun. It has been rapidly accepted and gained huge recognition because of its astonishing therapeutic results. It is very gentle as there is little needle sensation, for this reason most people prefer it to traditional acupuncture. It is powerful in its action and it can be used to treat any condition that traditional acupuncture treats (usually with a faster curative time). Results tend to be powerful and long lasting and are often felt instantaneously hence abdominal acupuncture is also known as the “miracle therapy”. 
I have been studying this form of acupuncture with the eminent Dr. Han in Nanjing since 2000 and am one of only a few practitioners qualified in this form of acupuncture in Europe.

What does abdominal acupuncture feel like?

It is a safer form of acupuncture since the needles are generally inserted superficially and therefore it is almost painless. Deqi (needling sensation) is not elicited in the way it is with traditional acupuncture and so people usually find it more comfortable. There may be a general warm radiating feeling or some people who are very, in tune with their bodies energy, may feel qi sensation in the relevant part of the body being worked on, such as the arm, leg or back rather than the area of the abdomen being needled. As with traditional acupuncture a comfortable relaxed state is achieved.

What conditions can abdominal acupuncture treat?

Abdominal Acupuncture can be used to treat all the disorders that traditional acupuncture treats (see WHO list) It is particularly affective with Osteo-muscular-articular disorders such as stiff neck, Vertebral spondylopathy, backache, sciatica, disc prolapse, neck pain etc., frozen shoulder, R.S.I  tendonitis & Rheumatoid arthritis. It also treats cerebro vascular disorders including senile dementia, thrombosis haemiplegia (stroke), parkinsons etc. Cardiac problems, high blood pressure. Disturbances of the nervous system such as anxiety, depression, stress, headaches dizziness and neuritis can also be treated effectively. It can also treat Ear nose & throat problems such as sinusitis, Glaucoma, cataracts degeneration of the retina. Diabetic neuritis is also treated very well with abdominal acupuncture. Abdominal acupuncture is also very powerful at treating painful neuralgia (debilitating nerve pain) as a result of shingles (herpes zoster) or bells palsy (facial paralysis).

Abdominal acupuncture can be used to treat various forms of cancer, and the complications that can arise as a result of radiation/chemotherapy.
