We were trying to conceive unsuccessfully for 3 years before we underwent tests at the Hari Unit. My husband was found to have a very low sperm count and poor motility. He did some research and decided to try acupuncture while we were waiting to start IVF/ICSI. By the time we started our first cycle of IVF 3 months later there was a big improvement in both my husband sperm count and motility. I also started attending Dantien around this time to help improve our chances of success and also to help me deal with the stresses and strains involved. Our cycle was successful and we had our eldest daughter in 2007. I continued to see Dave throughout my pregnancy without doubt this was one of the healthiest periods of my life. I am very susceptible to sinus infections and I never got one while attending Dantien. We both went back to Dantien in 2008 to prepare for our second cycle of IVF and I am delighted to say we were successful again and our second daughter was born in 2009.

As a Choreographer, Dancer and visual artist of almost 30 years my body has had its fair share of injuries. I have used acupuncture on many occassions to resolve these problems.

On the morning of the premier of one of my shows, which was particularly physical, I put my back out, the only position I could get any relief from the pain was flat on my back with my legs elevated on a chair. Dave did some abdominal acupuncture and within moments I felt relief, the pain was gone and my range of movement was almost normal again. Abdominal acupuncture is incredible it is gentle yet so powerful. I would recommend it without reservation.

The show was a massive success and even the critics were impressed.

I was very sceptical about acupuncture until my daughter introduced me to Dave Shipsey.

I had been in intractable severe pain, since falling on my tail bone 3 months before. Every test in the hospital showed no fracture and no reason for my pain which on a scale of 1-10 was constantly at 9. This was continuous for 3 months and I was on round the clock prescription pain relief medication.

Dave used the abdominal acupuncture system technique he learned in China.

Half an hour later it was a miracle no pain at all! I continued to be pain free, and have resumed a normal life for me. I am on oxygen but can now go up and down the stairs. I am still pain free, thanks Dave

"Dan tien health studio in Bride St is a comfortable relaxing place that treats a variety of different ailments using acupuncture and other holistic techniques. After receiving treatment for low mood and low energy I find that i am very much improved. I find dave shipsey to be a very experienced practitioner. Dave specializes in abdominal acupunture which is new to myself having had acupunture in a previous establisment.

The price is resonable compared to other centres. I had an unfortunate encounter in the pavilions in Swords. The centre in question initual charge was 40 euro but when I went for treatment they charged me 140 euro for one hour. They said I had to pay the complete course in full which was 660 euro, if I paid by the week it was 1300 euro. I left and never came back.

Dave visits China a lot and has number of experienced Chinese teachers. I am still attending Dan Tien studio and would recommend it to anyone for whatever ailment they have. "

"My husband and I had been trying to conceive our first child and, after a year of having no luck, were referred by our GP to a fertility clinic. As there was a 5 month waiting list I decided, in the interim, to try acupuncture. A friend of mine passed on Dave’s contact details so I got in touch and went for an initial consultation. He immediately put me at ease and I felt very comfortable with him from the outset. He told me that it would take about three months of treatment before I got any results, so I started going to him regularly for acupuncture sessions. Amazingly, just as Dave had predicted, three months later I got a positive pregnancy test result! We are now expecting our first child and that is definitely thanks to the acupuncture. "I had been suffering with a very painful frozen shoulder last year and was unable to see my physio for a good few weeks. With the idea that I'd try anything at this stage I went to see Dave in his studio. After a comprehensive history-taking, Dave started my acupuncture treatment. From the start the experience was so relaxing and so gentle that I did not feel that I was having a "medical" treatement. He used abdominal acupuncture combined with herb and cupping treatments. I visited Dave twice a week and could feel benefit after the first session. I started to sleep better as up to this the pain in the shoulder would wake me up every time I moved in bed, and feel better in myself. By Christmas the pain had gone! "I would like to take this opportunity to share my personal experience about Dan-Tien studio, especially to give a big appreciation to David Shipsey for healing my neck and shoulders problem using a new abdominal acupuncture technique. I had been involved in a car accident which left me with some neck, shoulders and back pain. It happened last October 2008. After the unfortunate event I’d been trying to cure my injury by using physiotherapy at the private clinic, it was of no avail. My friend was suggested to me to try acupuncture treatment and he recommended to me the Dan- Tien studio.

My first impression about the studio and particularly David was very pleasant. It is nice, comfortable and warm place. After closing the front door I felt being stepped into surroundings that made me feel protected and being looked after. I realize from the moment I spoke to David that he is very professional, definitely very knowledgeable about acupuncture. My first session went pretty well, clearly better that I had anticipated. David made me feel so relaxed. I completely forgot that he inserted some needles into my body. I’d been left in the warm room, with soft music playing on, to rest.

Next day I felt a bit odd, I knew that my body is undergoing the healing process. Then the following day I felt more energized, less pain in my upper body area. Automatically without any thinking or effort I slowed down, stopped fusing around, listened to my body, and allowed myself to get better. After only three sessions the pain in my back area has completely disappeared, my shoulders and neck are feeling much better now. I have been able to return to my yoga practices again, after four months being absolutely unable to do so.

I would have no problem in recommending David to anyone who still has second thoughts about the benefits of acupuncture and specially David Shipsey for doing his job with a lot of expertise and knowledge. "
